Campbeltown Pharmacy has been recognised on the national stage after winning two honours at the Scottish Pharmacy Awards 2026.
The independent pharmacy picked up both The Customer Award and The Commitment to Health and Wellbeing Award at a ceremony held on Saturday at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
The Customer Award, introduced for 2026, places patients’ voices at the centre of recognition, with winners decided through testimonials and public votes.
Meanwhile, the Commitment to Health and Wellbeing Award highlights prescribing pharmacists and their teams who deliver safe, accessible and innovative care, making a significant difference to patient outcomes.

The double win comes just a year after Campbeltown Pharmacy opened its doors, following a successful community-backed effort to improve local healthcare provision.
Pharmacist Ali Kazam said the recognition was particularly meaningful given the pharmacy’s short history and its role within a rural community.
He said: “Receiving this recognition just one year after opening our pharmacy means a great deal to us.
“As a new contract in a rural community that was previously underserved in terms of pharmacy provision, our aim has always been to improve access and deliver the high standard of care that the people of Campbeltown rightly deserve.
“We are incredibly grateful to the community for the trust and faith they have placed in us, and we remain committed to continuing to build on this and strive to do even better for the people of Campbeltown.”
Since opening in April 2025, the Mafeking Place pharmacy has become an increasingly important part of healthcare provision in the town, helping to ease pressure on services and expanding the range of care available locally.
Over the past year, the team has introduced a variety of clinics and services, from prescribing support and health checks to smoking cessation and weight management, while continuing to build strong links within the community.
The latest awards follow earlier national recognition, with pharmacist Zain Younis named Pharmacist of the Year at the Scottish Health Awards last year, and come after a period of growth for the pharmacy, which recently marked its first anniversary with a week-long health promotion initiative aimed at encouraging residents to take a more proactive approach to their wellbeing.
