The ladies of the Kintyre Chorale have presented a £1,500 donation to the Forget Me Not Choir, following their most successful Christmas concert to date.
The presentation took place on Thursday, February 12, during a “magical collaboration” at Kintyre Community Centre.
The afternoon saw both groups join forces for a heart-warming session of music, singing and dancing as the chorale kicked off its new session.
The funds were raised during the chorale’s December concert at a packed Campbeltown Parish Church. The event featured a diverse programme ranging from Elgar’s The Snow to a spirited Fairytale of New York, supported by Campbeltown Brass and the Campbeltown Grammar School Vocal Group.
The donation will be retained by the Campbeltown branch of the Forget Me Not Choir, which supports local people living with dementia through the joy of music.
“I am blown away by people’s generosity and community spirit,” said a representative for the Forget Me Not Choir. “The choir is now sorting out an outing once the warmer weather arrives.”
Supporters can catch the Forget Me Not Choir at various local events, including Tarbert Music Festival this summer.
Meanwhile, the Kintyre Chorale ladies are preparing for their next event – a sing-along at Campbeltown Town Hall on Thursday May 21.
