Next local to take the stage was 18-year-old Toby Jackson (64kg) against Luke Stirling from O’Neils.
Toby has been unbeaten this season and carried his form on to this bout dominating the thirds with some unbelievable controlled, flawless boxing to get his hand raised with a unanimous decision again.
Top of the bill was 19-year-old Fortwilliam lad Ryan Cameron (70kg) against Connor McCabe (O’Neils).
With 15 bouts less than his opponent Ryan started on front foot, working his jab and trying to throw combinations but the Blanytyre boxer was being cagey, dealing with everything that was thrown at him and starting to fire back.
The bout really hotted up near the end of the first round as both boys really started to trade with each other.
The second round brought more of the same with both working tirelessly and exchanging beautiful combinations until Ryan landed two to three back hands and the referee jumped in to issue a standing eight count to the O’Neils boxer who was no doubt glad to hear the bell.
Saving their best till last the two young men demonstrated an amazing standard of boxing in the final round.
In an electric bout the boys struck back and forth and finished to a standing ovation from the enthusiastic supporters in the arena.
With everyone waiting on the result it was the home boxer who got hand raised in a 2-1 split decision.
Everyone in the arena really appreciated this bout with the Master of Ceremonies and Boxing Alliance officials agreeing that it was probably the best top of the bill they had seen in the Nevis Centre for 20 years.
