Defining acts who have been part of Tiree Music Festival’s incredible 15-year history, and a raft of exciting artists making their debut, are among the first names to be announced for this year’s milestone edition.
Returning to the Inner Hebridean ‘Hawaii of the North’ from Friday 10 – Sunday 12 July 2026, the boutique beachfront festival will celebrate its 15th edition with a programme honouring the event’s journey from humble beginnings to one of Scotland’s most-loved music festivals.
Leading the first wave of names on the bill for this year’s Tiree Music Festival (TMF) bill are a host of familiar faces and first-timers, announced just as the event was named Best Small Festival at the Scottish Event Awards last night.
Tide Lines, who performed for the very first time as a band at the festival back in 2016, will return for a full-circle moment for the sought-after folk-pop act as they mark ten years together.
Western Isles wonders Peat & Diesel will make their long-awaited TMF debut this summer. Known for their high-energy live shows and fiercely loyal fanbase, the Stornoway trio’s appearance is set to be a standout moment for the festival’s 15th year.
Two mainstays of TMF in the form of treasured local talent who have played a defining role in the festival’s evolution, will also perform. Skerryvore who have played every edition in the event’s history will return to the stage that helped shape their global career, while an exciting all-new Skipinnish line up fronted by Tiree legend Angus MacPhail and Gaelic singing sensation Mischa Macpherson, among others, are set to take their home crowd by storm.
The packed bill of legendary talent grows with two Celtic music icons who will each make their third trip to TMF. The great Dougie MacLean, one of Scotland’s finest singer-songwriters, known the world over for his song ’Caledonia’, and internationally-renowned Irish accordionist Sharon Shannon, who is still breaking new ground 40 years into her glittering career.
Making her Tiree debut this year is rising Scottish singer-songwriter Rianne Downey. The writer, guitarist, performer and golden-voiced vocalist, who has a passion for country, folk and more, has been rightfully propelled into the limelight in recent years. Elsewhere two duos who have formed close bonds with the Tiree crowds in recent years, The Laurettes and The Eves, will also be back on the island for the 15th year.
What started as a 600-capacity event in a community hall car park has become somewhat of a cultural phenomenon, selling out every single year and attracting people from all over the world to the tiny island of Tiree.
The 2026 edition will once again welcome the best pop, indie, folk, roots and trad acts across three stages, with details of an expanded Elevate Stage, which will platform even more emerging talent, still to be announced.
Known for channelling the island’s laid-back spirit and love of homegrown music, the festival is set against white sands and turquoise waters and boasts a unique charm and warmth. Visitors also have the chance to enjoy a bustling fringe programme of wellness and island adventure activities like beachfront yoga, saunas and surfing.
Daniel Gillespie, Co-founder and Artistic Director of Tiree Music Festival, said: “It feels so special to be approaching our 15th year. From artists like Tide Lines returning to the location of their first ever gig ten years on, to acts who have been an important part of our journey, and incredible talent coming to the island for the first time, this feels like a fitting first line up reveal and a winning combination for TMF fans. This is also just the start, with lots more brilliant names to be revealed as we approach July.
“For our 15th edition we want to honour the strong sense of community that has defined the festival, staying true to our unique spirit, while continuing to innovate and welcome new artists to the TMF family. We can’t wait to welcome familiar faces and first-timers alike to come together this July.”
