The Machrihanish Golf Club welcomed visitors and members for its Charity Open competition on the Championship course last Saturday.
A strong field of 140 players faced challenging conditions in the first Open competition of the season.
The best handicap score of the day came from Thomas Martin, helped by an eagle on the par-five 12th hole, as he carded a winning 65.
The best gross score was a 74 from Dean Ratcliff, returning after representing Argyll and Bute against the Borders the previous weekend.
Duncan Sloan edged out Mike Casey in the 65+ category on better inward half.
Best score off the red tees came from Linda Grieve with an excellent 67, while Catherine Reid claimed first scratch with an 80.
A total of £2,800 was raised for the Robert Black Memorial Helipad.
The charity event also featured spot prizes donated by Springbank Distillery, with the following winners: Nearest pin par-three 4th: Darren Renton; nearest pin par-three 15th: Andrew McMillan; nearest pin in two shots on 17th: John Shaw.
A club spokesperson said: “The players appreciated the course and the wind – present throughout the day – making it difficult at times both with approach play and putting on the greens.
“Our thanks go to professional Jennie Dunn and her staff, charity helper Sandra Spence at the raffle desk, the greens team for presenting the course in excellent condition, and the clubhouse kitchen and front-of-house staff for serving food and refreshments throughout the day.
“Finally, congratulations to all the winners.”
