The first jack has been bowled in the first tournament of the season at Blackwaterfoot Bowling Club.
Bowler Christine Robinson started her season on a high note by winning the first match of the summer season.
Situated behind the club house of Shiskine Golf and Tennis Club, Blackwaterfoot Bowling Club has the only carpeted rinks on the island that are open all year round. The carpeted rink provides an even surface that is ideal for the novice or the more advanced bowler to develop a consistent delivery without having to cope with the frustrations and vagaries that a grass rink can produce.
Established in 1980, the club hosts two open sessions each week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 2pm. Coaching and equipment can be provided if required and new members are always encouraged and welcomed.
