Long-standing community organisation, Brodick Improvements, is encouraging anyone with an interest in Brodick to attend their upcoming public meeting.
Active for many years, most recently as a private limited company, Brodick Improvements has now become a registered charity.
The change represents an opportunity to grow, according to trustees, who said: “Now that Brodick Improvements is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and registered with OSCR, the Scottish Charity Register, anyone with an interest in Brodick can get involved.
“What improvements would you like to see in the village? Bring your ideas and your enthusiasm.”
Anyone who lives, works or has an interest in Brodick is invited to attend and participate in the meeting, where trustees will be ready to hear suggestions for future improvements to the village.
Currently Brodick Improvements maintains village facilities, including the toilets and the slipway. They assisted with the installation of the lamp post lights last Christmas, and have worked diligently over the years to keep Fisherman’s Walk in good repair, most recently setting up a public fundraiser that collected £18,000 to pay for repairs to the board walk which had been damaged by winter storms.
The Brodick Improvements public meeting will take place on Monday June 1 at 7pm in the Ormidale Pavilion.
