Benderloch and North Connel Drama Club’s production of Whisky Galore! brought the house down - with three sell-out shows at the Corran Halls’ Studio Theatre.
One of the Highlands and Islands’ most popular tales, the return of Whisky Galore! to Oban was hotly anticipated, and it certainly did not disappoint.
Tickets sold out weeks before the performances, and the crowd were treated to an incredible rendition of the Outer Hebrides classic.
Based on a true story, the events of the story follows the original book and film closely. The islanders of Eriskay, or Todday in the retelling, have run dry on whisky due to war time rationing, only for a ship to run aground on its shores carrying cargo of thousands of cases of it.
The islanders steal the cases to have themselves a long overdue dram, or 100, and then must avoid the law who are on hot on their heels.
The comedic flow of the performance was an absolute hit.

Speaking at their dress rehearsal, director Michael Rowell said: "It’s a great comedy play, we haven’t done a full length play for a while so it was great to do one this year.

Cast and committee member Marian Milarvie, who expertly portrayed Mrs Odd, said: "We were really happy with the way it went!
"We had no major hiccups and everyone really enjoyed doing it. There was a really good atmosphere and everyone got on really well.
"The audience was really great at all three shows. They laughed in all the right places and got all the gags.
"When you’ve been rehearsing something for months the gags aren’t as funny anymore, so a live audience that gets it really helps.
"We’re just so grateful to have sold out all three nights, thank you to everybody who took the time to come out and see it, it makes all the effort worthwhile for us as a cast.
"Whisky Galore is such a iconic story, everybody knows about it. To bring it to life on stage was pretty fantastic.
"The cast would really like to than the back stage crew for all their hard work and to our director Mike for pulling it all together and having the vision to perfect it.
"We’d also like to thank the musicians, Winnie McNicol, Emily Austin and Sandy Orr for the live performances.
"Also our hairstylist Elaine Smith, who made the difference. She really have us the 1940s look which helped give is the authenticity we really needed."
