As runners prepare for this weekend’s Mull of Kintyre Half Marathon and 10k (MOKRun), members of Campbeltown Running Club have already been clocking up impressive performances at major events across Europe.
Alan Anderson and Chris Anderson both achieved personal bests at the Manchester Marathon, while Susie Graham completed her first ever marathon at the iconic London Marathon alongside fellow club member Robert Irvine.
Several runners also travelled to Spain for the Madrid events, where soaring temperatures added to the challenge.
Gail Williams and Sarah McFadzen completed the Madrid Marathon in 31-degree heat, while Claire Reid and Amy Mitchell took on the Madrid Half Marathon.
Katie Anderson, Chantal Geyer, Alix Osborne, Mairi Fletcher Smith and Kristen Gillies all turned in strong performances in the Madrid 10k.
A club spokesperson said: “We are all extremely proud of every one of our club members. Their dedication, determination and hard work continue to inspire others within and outwith the club, and they should be immensely proud of their accomplishments.
“Onto MOKRun now and we wish everyone the best of luck for the big day.”
