Tomorrow night, May 15, sees Glencruitten Golf Club open its doors for a quiz night and ceilidh to help Eilidh Lowell carry on battling the disease that has seen her travel to Mexico twice seeking pioneering medical help.
Duncan Forgrieve and Neil Armour will be hosts for the evening, helped by Tina Forgrieve.
The event kicks off at 7.30pm for teams up to six and £5 each to join.
There will also be a grand raffle as well as music featuring pipes, accordion and song.
The Gofundme appeal with its target of £130,000 is currently just over £104,000.
Eilidh grew up in Oban and went to Oban High School before leaving to train as a nurse and now lives in Paisley.
In an update on her Gofundme page Eilidh said her cancer remains a challenge in the liver but she is grateful for the progress her liver has made.
"I have paused chemo for the minute to listen to my body, balancing treatment with quality of life," she said adding that the results of a scan from last month will be paramount in deciding to restart the treatment.
"Your support through the GoFundMe has allowed me to access private treatments recently here in Glasgow. I got some intravenous fluids /vitamin C that helped me enjoy our holiday after having such a sick period there. I couldn’t do this without your generosity—thank you from the bottom of my heart," said Eilidh.
Earlier this year, £3,414 was raised at a quiz night at Oban’s Royal Hotel for Eilidh’s treatment.
Arlene McLeod who is organising the quiz night and ceilidh said Eilidh is hoping to be there if she is well enough.
"Eilidh is so grateful to everyone who has given her help and support. She wants to be present to thank people. It means so much," said Arlene.
