January brings lots of excitement to Inverlochy Primary as it’s when they hold their annual Scots Factor competition.
Each child is challenged with learning a Scots poem to recite to an audience with three finalists from each year group going through to the school’s Scots Factor final.
Families of the finalists were invited in and guest judges Iain Ferguson and Mairi Finlayson were all primed and ready to go. Both judges took lots of notes as deciding on a winner was not an easy task.
A wide selection of poems were used as pupils were invited to choose their preferred one while judges were well hosted with Irn Bru and shortbread to feast on.
"We couldn’t have been more impressed with the high standard of poetry recital delivered by each child this year," said Iain.

"Delivering a loud and clear recital in a big hall is not easy and everyone managed to achieve this well.
"We were treated to lots of expression in the delivery of the poems, keeping us all fully captivated.
"Well done to every child in school who learnt a poem or part of a poem and a huge congratulations to all the finalists who bravely participated in this year’s Scots Factor.
"Well done to all the winners."
Lundavra Primary School thanked Iain and Mairi for judging the competition once again.
