After having to abandon play last year due to the weather, Argyll Bowling Club recently hosted the re-run of its 2025 Dick Potts Memorial Pairs, sponsored by Beinn an Tuirc Distillery.
Fifteen pairs took part across three sections of five, with each group winner qualifying for the semi-finals alongside the highest-placed runner-up.
The four semi-finalists were Jimmy and Gary Anderson, Shaun Grumoli and Paul Grumoli Snr, Anthony Fox and David Allen, and Robert Todd and Johnny McLean.
Following the semi-finals, it was the Andersons and the Grumolis who progressed to the final.
The opening four ends were closely contested, with little separating the two teams. However, a big score from Jimmy and Gary gave them a five-shot lead going into the final end – a gap Shaun and Paul were unable to close.
It was the Anderson pairing, representing Campbeltown Bowling Club, who ultimately lifted the trophy.
“Congratulations go to Jimmy and Gary, and thanks also to all the players from Campbeltown Bowling Club who took part,” said an Argyll Bowling Club spokesperson. “We would also like to extend our gratitude to the sponsors for their continued support.”
