A marine investigation agency has said “no further action” is required over a fishing boat that sank in Tarbert Harbour.
HM Coastguard was first notified of the incident around 9.40am on May 4, with no-one reported to be in distress and Tarbert Harbour Authority working to contain pollution.
The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) has confirmed to the Argyllshire Advertiser that the incident is not being investigated further.
A spokesperson for MAIB added that the 9.5m-long vessel had “foundered” while secured in Tarbert Harbour and whilst the boat’s owner was away.
A successful recovery operation took place on Wednesday May 6.
Divers were in attendance, as well as a large crane, with mariners advised to avoid the area near the Fish Quay whilst the vessel was recovered.
Following the recovery, a Tarbert Harbour Authority statement said: “On Wednesday afternoon - a swift, professional, and collaborative approach between the owner of a vessel, the contracted salvage team and Tarbert Harbour allowed for the successful recovery of a vessel that had sunk within the harbour."
