A man who has often played Santa for primary school pupils has turned into the real "Man in the Red Coat" minus the outfit and big sack.
Instead , Mikey MacKinnon, owner of the the Tavern Restaurant in Fort William High Street is opening his doors to people in need, offering a full meal for free.
On December 28 Mikey plans to open The Tavern between the hours of 1.00pm - 6.00pm - offering free fair to local individuals or families who may not have the money to eat in restaurants, older people who may not get out a lot or even those just seeking friendly company.
Speaking through a social media video on The Tavern Restaurant Facebook page, Mikey said: "Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the year and on their behalf as well as my own and the staff, I would like to make this offer to people who may need it."
He asks that anyone who wants to go along gets in touch with The Tavern through social media, phone (01397 70 3600) or even drop in to let them know they would like to join in this celebration of kindness.
Mikey has 100 places on offer, but it would help him to know in advance just how many people to cater for.
Nominations can also be made by others who think that someone they know deserves this and would benefit from it.
"There is absolutely no stigma attached to this as we are trying to help out anyone or any family who may not be able to enjoy this otherwise. Just let us know," he added.
