A new art exhibition celebrating the landscape, atmosphere, and spirit of the Outer Hebrides by Mull artist Aska Marzec will open this September at Talla na Mara in Harris.
Soulscapes, a solo exhibition by Tobermory based Marzec, runs from 1 - 30 September 2026 and brings together contemporary landscape paintings, mixed-media works, and textured resin pieces inspired by 17 years of living and travelling throughout the Hebrides.
Drawing inspiration from the dramatic coastline, changing weather, ferry journeys, and quiet moments found across the islands, the exhibition explores the emotional connection many people feel with the Hebridean landscape.
Using acrylics, inks, resin, textures, and layered surfaces, Aska’s work captures both the physical beauty and deeper atmosphere of island life.
“The Hebrides have shaped my creative journey for many years,” said Aska. “This exhibition is about more than landscape painting - it’s about memory, connection, light, weather, and the feeling of being immersed in these places.”
The exhibition will take place at Talla na Mara, one of Harris’s creative and cultural spaces on the west coast of the island, with free entry throughout September.
Alongside the exhibition, visitors will also be able to take part in resin art workshops inspired by Hebridean colours. Limited-edition giclée prints and original artworks will be available for purchase.
A percentage of print sales from Soulscapes will support the community creativity project Island Hearts For Art, encouraging creative activity in Aska’s home island, Mull, church spaces during the autumn and winter months.
Opening event details will be announced closer to the exhibition launch.
